A turtle shell which acts as a shield, lotus flowers to symbolize my family’s religion (Buddhism), the Fujian symbol (a region where my ancestors are from), Garuda’s wings (also to symbolize my family’s religion and also often use as a representation of Indonesia where I was born and raised), and my motto “Moderat” which means moderate in my native language.
A coat of arms is a family, person or country’s symbolic bearings or shield. It usually consists of a shield, crest, supporters, and a short motto or quote. In the past, coat of arms were often used and found on armors, weapons and shields. This project is my take on a modern version of a family's coat of arms. The coat of arms was designed based off elements related to my family’s history, and cutural beliefs.
